Hunting raccoons is not very different from hunting other animals. If you are on an elk hunt, you will be hunting under some fairly strenuous situations, and you want to be sure that whenever you sight your prey, you will not be so exhausted that you can't sight your rifle. Elk hunting is not a sport for those who are not physically in shape, and if you have an interest in hunting game this large, you should be aware of the need for fitness and working towards this goal well in advance of your hunt.
With time, a hunter will have his/her own customized collection of gadgets and gears to have. Bow hunting is an extremely common form of hunting, as they have been in use for literally thousands of years. Keep in mind that bow and arrow hunting is usually a state by state decision as to how much regulation there is on it.
The downside is that you may not find the specialized or high quality equipment you want. Individuals can also shop from the local stores to check and select the equipment themselves and ensure their performance standards. This doesn't mean you won't see a whitetail during the day, but alot of bucks I've taken down have been during those times.
Combine these with other deer hunting tips you find around this site and you ll have a winning season. Hunting during the night can be more exciting but it is also quite harder.
